Static or dynamic: what is the difference?
Static code
The link or text is written into the pattern itself. Free, unlimited, and nobody can switch it off. But it can never change, and you cannot count scans.
Best for: Wi-Fi, contact cards, links that will never move.
Dynamic code
The pattern holds a short ScanStill link. When scanned, we count it and send the person on to your destination. Change the destination anytime and the printed code follows.
Best for: menus, packaging, signs, flyers, anything printed in volume.

Questions people ask before they print
Do ScanStill codes expire?
No. Static codes never expire anywhere, because the content is in the pattern. Our dynamic codes have no trial clock and no end date. They keep redirecting as long as ScanStill exists and your account is in good standing.
What happens if I cancel my paid plan?
Your paid codes keep redirecting for 30 days after the plan ends. After that they show a page saying the code is paused, until you resubscribe. You can export your full list of codes and destinations before then. The one code included with a free account never expires.
Are there scan limits?
No. Every plan, including free, has unlimited scans. A busy menu or a product box will never hit a cap.
Can I change where a code points after printing?
Yes, with any dynamic code, including the free one. The printed code stays the same and you change the destination in your dashboard. Static codes cannot be changed, because the link is part of the pattern.
What is your refund policy?
30 days, no questions asked. Email support and we refund the most recent payment in full.
Is there a monthly plan, or only yearly?
Both. Plus is $6 a month or $48 a year. Pro is $12 a month or $96 a year. The price you see is the price you are charged for that period.
Do you track the people who scan my codes?
Only the basics: approximate country and city from the network, device type, operating system and referring page. We set no cookies on people who scan, and we do not build profiles of them.
What happens if ScanStill shuts down?
We promise at least 12 months notice, a full export of your codes and destinations, and an option to hand your redirects to another host so printed codes keep working.
